Current Behaviors of NI REBCO Pancake Coil Wound With Multi-Bundled Conductors During Charging and Against Local Normal-State Transition

چکیده

No-insulation(NI) Rare-Earth Barium Copper Oxide (REBCO) pancake coils can generate high magnetic fields and have the thermal stability against normal-state transition due to allowing currents radially bypass a local region through turn-to-turn contacts. Despite these merits, no insulation causes charging delay. To solve this delay problem, an NI REBCO coil wound with multi-bundled (MB) conductors was proposed. As experimental result, improved because inductance per tape of MB is smaller than that single-tape coil. Meanwhile, current behaviors are complicated has not been clarified. We investigated during transition, comparing without insulation. it shown be operated stably, pessimistic temperature rise observed. However, operating may concentrate on one when occurs. Therefore, seems desirable.

Field and temperature scaling of the critical current density in commercial REBCO coated conductors

Scaling relations describing the electromagnetic behaviour of coated conductors (CCs) greatly simplify the design of REBCO-based devices. The performance of REBCO CCs is strongly influenced by fabrication route, conductor architecture and materials, and these parameters vary from one manufacturer to the others. In the present work we have examined the critical surface for the current density, J...

Scientific Report Transverse Thermal Conductivity of REBCO Coated Conductors

REBCO coated conductors (CCs) have the potential to widen considerably the application areas of superconductivity. Quench protection of REBCO-based devices represents one of the major obstacles to this expansion. Thermal conductivity data are mandatory ingredients for quench simulation studies. In particular, the transverse thermal conductivity (kT) of the CC plays a key role in case of quenche...

Experimental Production and Evaluation of Racetrack Coils for REBCO On-board Magnet

Work has been conducted to develop REBCO (Rare-Earth Barium Copper Oxide) magnets for Maglev. REBCO is one of several high temperature superconducting materials and has a high current density at high temperatures and in high magnetic field environments. The REBCO coated conductor will make it possible to raise the operating temperature of on-board magnets without increasing the coil weight. Sin...
